There are multiple ways to separate the cream from your whole milk, but when you’re working with a big quantity, we have found that the simple cream separator is our easiest way.

Goats milk does not separate as easily as cows, milk. With cows milk you can leave it in the refrigerator overnight and in the morning you can see a clearly defined line between your skim milk and your cream which sits on top. Goats milk will separate the same way, but the line is not nearly as defined and it takes longer than 24 hours for it to occur usually.

With the cream separator, all I have to do is heat up the milk just a little bit and add it to the bowl of the separator and the machine does. The machine is a bit of a pain to take apart and clean afterwards, which you have to do down to the smallest component. But, it is worth it.
